Permeate Pump for Reverse Osmosis Systems
- Lower your Reverse Osmosis system's waste water by as much as 80%.
- The Permeate Pump is very effective in boosting water pressure.
- Requires no electricity, powered solely by water's
water production with superior water quality and longer membrane life.
Requires no electricity, powered only by the
hydraulic pressure of (waste) brine water usually emptied into the drain,
the Permeate Pump forces your systems filtered water into the storage
tank, reducing membrane back pressure and maximizing available feed
pressure. These pumps dramatically improve the efficiency of Reverse
Osmosis water production, reducing (brine) wastewater by up to 80%. In
other words, if your current system requires 10 gallons of tap water to
produce a gallon of pure water (10:1), adding a Permeate Pump should
reduce this ratio to below 3:1.
This pump can also bring storage
tanks up to line pressure and then shut the system down when these tanks
reach capacity, eliminating the need for a
valve. Other benefits include higher delivery pressures, faster R.O.
water production, superior water quality, and extended filter/membrane
Permeate is water treatment jargon for the produced drinking water of the reverse osmosis unit, water that has been treated by the membrane, the water you're going to drink. Brine is the rinse water, sometimes called waste water, the water that is carrying away the impurities rejected by the reverse osmosis membrane, the water that will ultimately go down the drain.
The following diagram illustrates the principal involved and although it looks complex, installation is relatively simple because of the push to fit, John Guest style fittings and we supply 3 feet of 1/4"tubing. The permeate pump can be installed into almost every existing under counter R.O. system. The main thing is, that you install it horizontally with both outlet ports in the highest position so that any air purges out automatically. Outlet ports are plainly marked and the unit comes with a clip to easily mount the unit to the wall.PDF of Permeate Pump Information Installation Instructions for Permeate Pump
