A great water filter value, designed for Chlorine, Chloramine and/or Fluoride treated city water supplies - provides excellent filtration of up to 2500 gallons or more at an affordable price. All components are safe for water filtration usage and made in the USA. Outstanding performance is achieved by using the standard replaceable 1.0 micron Matrikx Pb-1 Solid Carbon Block filter cartridge OR the optional AquaCera Fluoride, Chloramine and Arsenic reduction cartridges. The Standard Matrikx cartridge removes particulates as small as 1 micron and filters Chlorine taste and odor, Lead, VOC's, Cysts, Giardia, Pharmaceuticals, Pesticides, Chemicals, sediment, rust, and particulate matter for sweet, clear, great-tasting water. The specs for the optional cartridges are below.

The long-lasting replaceable water filter cartridges, our Standard Carbon Block the WR001 (pre-installed) or the Option A Carbon Block: Fluoride, Chloramine, Arsenic cartridge, the WRFLUORIDE cartridge (pre-installed). The Option B Ceramic/Carbon block is not pre-installed (we find it ships better if it's not pre-installed, but installation only takes 5 minutes and is very simple) The Optional Ceramic/Carbon Block Fluoride, Chloramine, Arsenic cartridge, the WRFLAR cartridge adds powerful pathogen filtration. Depending upon cartridge choice, provides 600 to 2,500 Gallons of great- tasting, crystal clear water. That`s about 3-5 cents/gallon without lugging bottles around! We recommend annual replacement of the replaceable water filter cartridge.

Additional Specifications for the Matrikx Standard Carbon Block (WR001):

  • Solid Extruded Activated Carbon Block Filter
  • NSF/ANSI 61 Certified materials by KXTechnologies
  • Chlorine Reduction: 6,000 gallons at 0.75 GPM
  • Lead Reduction: 2,500 gallons at 0.75 GPM
  • Cyst Reduction: GiardiaCryptosporidium Class 1
  • Turbidity Reduction based on 53
  • Outstanding Chlorine, Taste and Odor Reduction for up to 6,000 gallons.
  • Heavy Metal Reduction: Reduces soluble Lead and other heavy metals, i.e. Mercury, using an ion-exchange filter medium with high specificity for soluble lead. Advanced particulate filtration is used to intercept insoluble lead-containing particles.
  • Chemical Adsorption: Reduces Volatile Organic Chemical contaminants including chlorine, fertilizers, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and other compounds that contribute to health, taste and odor.
  • Particulate, Cyst and Turbidity Reduction: Meets Standard 53 for reduction of Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Entamoeba and Toxoplasma.  Filters provide > 99.98% reduction of 3-4 micron particulates, > 99.96% reduction of 1-2 µ particulates, and are high performance sediment filters with extended life.  Extruded activated carbon filters provide several times greater life than traditional molded carbon or granular carbon filters
  • Made in the U.S.A.
Option A: Carbon Block Cartridge (WRFLUORIDE) with slightly different specs adds Fluoride, Chloramine and Arsenic reduction for up to 1,000 gallons.

Stainless Steel Water Bottle with your water filter system purchase!

Connects quickly and easily to your existing kitchen faucet. Installation Instructions included. Measures: 4-1/2"D x 11-1/2"high.

Important Notice: Countertop units will not connect to pull out faucets. If your main faucet is a pull out faucet you will need an undercounter water filter unit.

Note: The spout may allow a short-lived trickle of water after it is shut off. This is normal operation and allows pressure to be released from the unit after use.

Due to the nature of the diverter valve, connected to the faucet and the natural minerals in water, a few drops of vegetable oil on the slide every so often will help keep it fully functional.

If your Diverter Valve is sticking or difficult to use, try soaking the Diverter Valve in a glass of vinegar for 30 minutes, then work it and if that makes it slide easier, use a couple drops of vegetable oil to keep it lubricated. Sometimes the natural Calcium in water builds up and the vinegar will help dissolve the build-up.

Limited 1 year warranty on parts.

We highly recommend replacing the housing every 5 years as the food grade materials used in the housing manufacture may become brittle.

    Outstanding filtration system
I moved to a place that is on well water site-wide (so I have no control on adding chlorine, etc. to it) AND it just plain stinks like sulfur. So, I decided to find a way to turn on the faucet and get pure, clean, odorless water for drinking, cooking, coffee, etc. and this terrific system does the job beautifully. I chose the higher-priced filter to make sure there is never anything in my water that I don't want there. It is a Ceramic and Carbon Block for Fluoride, Pathogens, Chlorine, Chloramine, Arsenic, Lead and much more. To me, it is worth it. My water system from BestFilters has now replaced my long-time favorite Berkey water filtration & takes up half the space -- plus, I don't have to constantly be refilling it. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this water filter.

Have had this unit connected to kitchen faucet. Primarily used to take chlorine taste from drinking and cooking water. Does a great job. Only complaint is that the diverter gets stuck and needs to be manually released. A drop of olive oil every so often solves the problem.

Bought this to replace an aquasana that i've been using for about 10 years. Those filters end up costing almost as much as the system itself. Instructions with the unit aren't too clear, the adapter snaps on to your faucet! I take a large bottle of water to work every day and when I ran out, I used the company bottled water and the difference in taste was amazing. Almost couldn't drink the company stuff. Looks good on the counter and the flow is awesome. Would definitely recommend!

This filter has worked great for us since we set it up at our kitchen sink. The only concern we have is that there is no "gage" on how many gallons of water have gone through the unit--so we won't know exactly when to replace the filter...I didn't think to have that feature until after our purchase...meantime, the unit has been excellent, great flow and taste and matches our tile colors (which as white as well)..This is a major improvement over BOTTLED WATER where you really don't KNOW FOR SURE how filtered it really is AND the cost for this unit is by far more reasonable than bottled water for 2 people over the coarse of a year. We are very happy with this unit other than the lack of a gage. Thank you BEST FILTERS! this unit is a keeper.

When I was looking for a water filter, I found BEST Filters, which we used when I was working, since retired, I knew the quality of their products. I ordered a countertop water filter and I can say it was well worth the price, easy set up, the water tastes great! The only problem is the water valve sticks, you have to push the valve back in, it was almost auto-matic when when you shut the water off. All in all a great product....4.5 stars.....

    Countertop water filter
The water has a good taste and I have a choice of filters. And, I'm not limited to the amount of water I need vs a 1 gal or 3 gal pitcher type water filter system.

    Does its job exceedingly well
Great filter so far! The water tastes smoother (for lack of a better term) and definitely encourages us to drink more. It's reassuring to know the gunk is being filtered out; I can smell the difference. Setup was a breeze, and we've not had a single issue with it in the month we've been using it.

This filter is a very quick and cost effective way of of making quite unpleasant city water drinkable and suitable for making coffee, tea etc. The taste of the filtered water is indistinct from bottled in my experience so it saves money and the environment as well. The contaminant reductions are obviously not as good as an RO system, but for the size and cost, it should be sufficient for most applications. The only complaint I have is that after shutting off the water source, the filter spout continues to flow and drip for 10-15 seconds so the spout must be positioned over the sink or your counter may be wet. Suggestion for future design would be to include a low pressure check valve at the exit to close when water source is turned off. This will prevent the dripping etc. Overall, a good product at a good price.
